I am a sculptor. I push the boundaries and explore the space between two-dimensional and three-dimensional. My work utilizes representational imagery, minimalist geometric shapes, and abstract expressionism to focus on capturing the intangible. Materiality is central to my work.

I sculpt in several mediums as I explore dimensionality and space. My sculptural work utilizes stone, wood and metal. Shapes are formed that contradict their constitution. I also find ways to physically manipulate my analog photography. I do this through a chemical process called Mordancage, which lifts the darkest parts off the paper. Then, it can be carefully moved to create effects such as the fabric like veils in my work. This manipulation of materials within a two-dimensional process allows me use photographs in a sculptural sense with a gestural nature, akin to action paintings. Large-scale prints allow the viewer to experience my work in different ways. From afar, the geometric shapes are most prominent and the closer you get the more details can be seen in the paper and veils.

The challenge of shaping a fluid form from rigid materials led me to experiment and find ways to manipulate and sculpt two-dimensional objects. With my love for geometric aesthetics and need for chaos within a calculated space, I explore abstract concepts; creating a space one can get lost in the chaos.
